I don’t know about you but my refrigerator is a black hole of freezer burnt food, topped with disorganization.  I have a dreaded side-by-side its way to small, nothing fits in either side, I have to rearrange it all the time to fit stuff after I grocery shop and freezer is like playing frozen food jenga.  Oh! and did I mention the freezer in the garage. That is usually packed with freezer mealsTR45, or bulk/y items since its a full size freezer.  inventory.jpg

So my solution WRITING ON THE DOOR!   I use a low odor fine point dry erase markers that comes off completely when I spray it with my homemade surface cleaner.  This helps me inventory everything I have, makes it easier to decide what is for dinner that is for sure.  As you can see my handwriting is horrible (Sorry).  This is my list of what I have in my freezer and the freezer out in the garage (that is what OUT means).  When I look at the list I can easily throw together dinner or if we have someone over I know what we have and if we have enough.  Another great thing is when someone is over or my husband is home they can easily look at the fridge and pick what they want to eat.

So that is one side of the fridge door on the other is what is in the cupboards & Meal Planning… Now for this wonderful photo I did rewrite I just left it the way it was so you can truly see what it looks like after a month.

Cupboard Inventory.jpg

After I use the item I either cross off the number or I just erase off the list. I let you in on a little secret I HATE SHOPPING and especially for groceries; the truth is I only go once a month.   When it comes to the next month/grocery time I take a photo and rewrite everything.  Then I use my custom shopping list and a highlighter to go shopping (I post the printable soon) .

10 Ways Essential Oils Have Actually Helped Me

EO HeaderThis is my real testimony on how Young Living Essential Oils have truly helped my family.  I have consulted with our doctors as I have gone through the process of trying some of these, so if you want to try them I would say do the same.

1. My Headaches– I get headaches quite often and this is one thing I usually run to a bottle of some kind of pill to take care of as soon as they set on.  I started using the essential oils and decided to try peppermint oil.  I apply a drop to my fingers and rub it on the spot that hurts (usually my temples) BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET IT IN YOUR EYES.

Back Pain2. My back pain – I was in a car accident in 2010 and have been taking ibuprofen, tylenol and advil, all day every day. I decided to try the PanAway on the spots where it hurts at first I was doing both then one day I realized I hadn’t taken any meds all day.  Everyday since I use it religiously.

3. A boil – My husband wears a winter hat all day working outside so he sweats and he always gets these bumps in his sideburns.  Well we decided to look it up the other day because I am always having to pop it and drain it.  Gross right!  So I looked up a remedy for boils with essential oils.  I applied Lemon and then a hot wash cloth.  Not only did it go down with in 10 minutes it was also less painful for him.  Day two it was almost gone! Amazing.

4. A skin tag– I have two skin tags that drive me crazy they are on the inner side of my leg.  Its such a sensitive area I am always to scared to use anything.  So I tried oregano on a cotton swab daily and with in  days it shrunk to a tiny little spot.

Headache5. Nausea– I had been throwing up with a stomach bug I tried peppermint oil rubbed in my hands and then inhaled.  With in seconds my upset stomach felt sooo much better.

6. Sleep – Since my son was born he has never slept through the night but a few times. He is now 3! I made a sleep stick with lavender and I rub cedarwood on his back.  I now get up with him very few nights (except when he has growing pains)

7. Growing Pains– Again I have a 3 year old so he is at the point of getting growing pains. I would normally wake up with him and rub his lakes maybe give him some tylenol. I now rub PanAway diluted with carrier oil on his legs and put him back to bed.  Its worked perfectly since we started!

8. Cuts– I made a healing salve and carry it with me everywhere.  I usually get cut at least once a week and its usually on something ridiculous like opening the peanut butter or folding a box.  I applied it to the cut as soon as it started bleeding and it stopped just that quick.  It also heals with in 3 or 4 days.

9. Digestion – I discovered over the summer that gluten bothers me and bad.  When I have just a little bit I get a horrible sharp pain in my stomach.  So I went gluten free!  Well I am a carboholic so this was SUPER hard and didn’t work the best for me.  So I decided to try DiGize on my tummy for a few days and try the carbs again.  IT WORKED! I am careful with how much I do eat but I can again at least have a bagel here and there and not get super sick.Foot

10. Stress– This one I am still fine tuning but I have noticed a big difference and I use this regularly.  I have bad anxiety and I stress about EVERYTHING.  When I feel myself getting to that point I inhale or rub on JOY.  Within minutes I feel a sense of relief its soooo wonderful.

Our current ailments we are working with allergies, hair growth, sinus pressure, anxiety, ADHD, tiredness. So Stay tuned.

Essential oils have been a blessing.  I am still learning and will continue to learn about them but they have been worth the money over and over again! I can’t believe it took me so long to find them haha.

What ailments have you had and used essential oils?

$100 Extra a week Challenge …. UPDATE

Hey Everyone! I am excited to announce I am going on my second week and I am on target! I am at $255 on day 13.

Week 1 & 2

How I did it:

My first sale was a dinning room table my husband and I redid this past summer. I purchased a 3 piece set (a hutch, a buffet and a dinning room table) from Genesee County Habitat for Humanity ReStore.  I already had a dinning room table so I stripped it and stained it last of course.  I was so excited to find my buffet I was in heaven working on it turning into a shabby chic master piece.  Anyways, after I finished the furniture I wanted for my house I did the table and started to post to sell.  Well winter came along and it is TOOOOO cold for me outside so I kind of forgot about it until our challenge started, so I posted it on craigslist.com.  Within a week I had it sold for $150!

My second week and my sales have nothing to do with furniture.  I teamed up with a couple of ladies and taught an Essential Oil Class.  At the class we taught everyone how amazing oils are, what they can do for you and your family and then we sold products we had made out of our essential oils.  For Christmas I had made lotion bars, healing salve, sleep sticks, and zap a zit sticks.  SOOO I had a lot left over so I really didn’t have to do anything special or spend money on making more.  I had also made travel cases for my essential oils, so I displayed them and sold them made to order for anyone interested.  I did $78 in sales with stuff I had already made.

My last bit of MONEY I made was with swagbucks.com .  I didnt have to spend anything to make money here either!  I took a few surveys while on the couch, typed in a few codes here and there when they popped up on my app.  I had enough points after two weeks to get a $25 gift certificate for Restaurant.com . How perfect is that money for a date night!!
